Episode 5: Estacado

Well this week I am previewing Lubbock Estacado. I mixed it up a little bit and interviewed the Head coach, Danny Servance, rather than a player. As much as I would have liked to speak with a player, the school wouldn't allow it because of PR issues.

Anyways, I couldn't have had a better conversation with Coach Servance. This is his first season as a head football coach at Estacado. He is a very down to earth person who likes to talk football. Him and I also spoke for some time about mass communications, seeing to it as he graduated Baylor with a mass comm degree.

I am very happy with this podcast. The interview was good. I had a little concern with the setting because we were in a big work out room, but the audio came through fine. I also used game footage from Estacado's game with Frenship to place over the interview. It kind of spices things up.

I hope everyone enjoys. Let me know what you think.

Hey man, nice job this week! I liked the authority of the interviewee...the head coach! Impressive booking. I didnt notice a problem with an echo or anything, in fact, It sounded great. Did you use a lapel or anything? One thing you might work on for next week is practice your delivery and script a big more. a few pauses but overall a really nice job! I enjoyed it.

I liked the video, very professional looking. The interview went really well and I liked the caliber of person you got to interview. There was a couple over times that you stumbled over your words a bit. Other than that it was pretty good.

the video is great. i'm glad you did a podcast on this team because i knew that they were having such a great season and how they used to be not very good in previous seasons. i didn't know much about the new coach so the interview was really interesting to watch. i like how you set up the interviewe and had the camera on both of you as opposed to you behind the camera. made it look more professional. excellent job.

I really liked the way it started out and the video quality was excellent. You are right, that interview went really well and levels sounded good. There were a few pauses but I found that it sounds more realistic and is easier to listen to when there is the occasional um or ah. Great job.

I liked how you added the video from the game throughout the interview; it helped keep my attention. I’ve never heard of mojo, so that was pretty cool. The location was great too; the matador logo and ground were good additions.

Nice work! I thought you did a great job with the football highlights. I liked the setting for the interview. The interview was good because it included plays of the football team. The intro and outro music was also fitting and really good for this podcast. Once again, great job overall!
